Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use the MPOT website, including people who use assistive technology, keyboards, magnification or high-contrast settings.

Our approach

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is our target, not a claim of verified conformance.

Display settings

Use the Colour mode and text size button at the top of every page to choose:

  • Colour mode: System (follows your device), Light, Dark or High contrast.
  • Text size: Default, Large or Extra large.
  • Your choice is remembered on this device.

Browser zoom and your device's own text-size and contrast settings also work across the site.

What we have done

  • A skip link, clear page landmarks and one main heading per page.
  • Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA colour contrast in each colour mode.
  • Form fields have labels, required fields are marked, and errors are described in words and announced to screen readers.
  • Moving content can be paused, and animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

Status and known limitations

The site has been checked with automated tools and by hand, but it has not yet had an independent accessibility audit or full testing with screen readers. We are not claiming it fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • The maps on the Locations page are provided by Google and are not fully accessible. Each clinic's address is also given in text below its map.
  • The referral forms on the Make a Referral page open on a separate website run by another provider, which may not work as well with assistive technology.
  • Photographs keep their original colours in every colour mode.
